Commenting on the nature of Supt. Tawiah, DSP Kwesi Ofori, Director of Police Public Affairs, described the death of the police capo as sudden and unfortunate.
According to him, Supt. Tawiah was one of the hard-working and disciplined officers and was a Public Affairs Commanders of the Greater Accra Police Commanders.
“In fact, he was one of the pillars of the Anti-armed Robbery Unit in the early 1990s, who had fought armed robbery in the country,” the Police Public Relations Director noted.
According to DSP Ofori, the late Dansoman police commander also helped in fighting violent crimes in the country and was a nice person whose history in the Police Service would place him at the right place.
Known by his peers as “Micky Ronuy”, Supt. Tawiah was said to have worked in the Prosecutions Department in Accra and performed his duties with distinction.
Describing him as an affable person, DSP Ofori said the entire police administration had lost a great hero who would forever be remembered.
