Obama or Mother Teresa: What Do Americans Want?

IS OBAMA A MESSIAH, an animal abuser, a racist, a communist, a socialist and a Nazi and a liar? Plea-ze!

Boy, oh boy! There is something peculiar I don't understand about people, particularly Americans. Do they want an ordinary human or a Mother Teresa look- alike, to be at the helm of the Presidency? For God's sake Obama has been in office for only, (yes only) nine months but I think we all need a moment to reflect on his Presidency.

When some American parents had to pull out their children from schools to prevent them from hearing President Obama's inspirational speech--- about the need for students to stay in school and work hard----then we all have to wail with pain, all night. Folks, it's nothing to write home about.

Let me see if I got it right:
First, he was called “an elite” by the media and political pundits for not believing in stereotypes and wanting to live above them. When that label didn't stick, he was called a socialist because he wanted to safe the financial market and the Auto industries from a total financial tsunami .And he instantly became an animal abuser for killing a fly, which was hovering all over him at the White House backyard.

This poor guy can't win. Americans want their leaders to be an average “Joe” of whom they can sit down and drink a beer with. So when he assumed the Presidency he embarked on a junk food expedition by visiting burger joints in DC and he attended the Broadway shows with his wife. All that should count for something, right? Hell no! That is not enough!!

Yes, he did kill a bug, so what? Dick Chaney almost killed more than birds.

Was he elected to solve problems or be a Saint? Give the guy a break!

Americans are very confused. They cried for leaders who looked, sounded and acted like themselves. They also want their leaders to be inhuman yet under no circumstance should an American President kill a fly and get away with it.

Now they want to give him a shout out: “You lie Mr. President”.

The center of gravity of the” you-lie “crowd is that they want to be positively, absolutely sure that the proposed health care bill does not(underline does not) provide benefits to illegal immigrants—which is another way of saying that if you're an illegal immigrant you could not use the American health care system. You got it? Good! And, very soon we're going to be required to produce our legal immigration particulars just to see a doctor or enter a hospital.

Well, the “you lie “anthem is being celebrated all over on YOUTUBE and twittering across the nation because America has lost its moral and civility bearings and it's using the health- care debate as a vehicle to propel its own ugly, hidden agenda.

It all started when President Obama in his speech to Congress, affirmed that the proposed health care bill doesn't grant illegal immigrants any health care insurance. But, that didn't satisfy Congressman John Wilson of South Carolina, who is trying to fulfill the bigger agenda of the Hate-Obama movement.

Unfortunately, his enthusiasts now regard him as a “hero” in his home state; a place where confederate flags fly freely and white supremacy linger .Thanks to Mr. Wilson and the political pundits, now “trade Obama back to Africa” “Black monkey” and” Obama is a Hitler” signs and bumper stickers are everywhere in the south. To top it off, he has raised $2 million in a week (for his re-election campaign) just by calling President Obama a “liar”. My guess is when he assaults the president he could probably laugh all the way to the bank and retire a zillionaire with no sweat.

Congressman Wilson is perhaps one of the hybrids of the Hate-Obama movement, with its take-no- prisoners approach. It is designed to make sure that Obama fails miserably in his presidency : “I told you so, black people can destroy America”.

It's no lie, if the President of United States (who happens to be a black man) is not safe in his own land none of us are safe. The incident of the last few weeks has lifted the veil on the ugly head of racism, which was orchestrated by a group of people who are not willing to “stand by and let a black man destroy their country”. This hysteria has the potential to morph into something very, very ugly with deadly consequences. The recent events are likely going to bring back the Ku Klux Klan and its “bloody life when it's about to doze off and lose its social place in the nation”. And, if that doesn't scare you, nothing should.

Ironically, all that is going on at a time when the United States' battered image around the world was/is beginning to bear edible fruits, after decades of being seen negatively by its enemies.

By the way, the Hate –Obama surrogate, Congressman Wilson happens to be a resident of the same state as Gov. Appalachian Trail-hiker, Mark Sanford.

For those of you who have been living comfortably somewhere in caves in Afghanistan, Gov. Sanford of South Carolina is the guy who refused President Obama's economic stimulus package for his state. He also disappeared for several days from his governorship post to attend to the needs of his traffic –stopping beauty girl –friend in Argentina. But, he claimed he was on a hiking trip on Appalachian mountains to find his soul until he was finally mobbed by the campers of the news media that greeted him upon his arrival at the airport. Whoops!! . Surprise!

The issue was not his hanky-panky “sexcapade” in Argentina but he deserted his post as a head of the Executive branch of the State for days and no one (including his wife) knew his whereabouts. And when everything hit the fan and the news started to drip, he refused to resign his post. An in-your-face arrogant and intoxication of power and exhibition of combative pasture by the governor speak volumes of the support he gets from the south which is also part of Hate -Obama movement.

In this day and age when jobs are hard to come by granted he were a supervisor of a cleaning company or a storefront security company and walked away from his post you can guarantee that he won't have a job by now. But, he's still the governor of Congressman Wilson's state. Can you smell hypocrisy? “Governor, you lie!”

Did the governor lie? Don't ask me; ask Congressman the lie- detector- operator John Wilson. While we're on it can the Congressman determine how many trips did the governor take to Argentina—to take care of business--- in the course of his tenure? Don't you want to know, since we all have an unhealthy appetite for gossip?

Americans are setting bad examples to their kids and the next generation when a shouting match is encouraged in the hall of congress and nice trips to Argentina are encouraged by those who know better. Aren't we all human and have our own shortcomings, including killing bugs and “visiting friends” in Argentina?

That's no lie!
Can you hear me now, Congressman Wilson? Give me a shout out when you wake up because it's getting very ugly out there and I'm not at ease. It's one thing to be against Obama's policies, and it's another to attack everything he does and stands for. The posters which were carried by the conservative protesters in Washington DC for the past weekends said it all: “The zoo has an African lion and the White House has a Lyin' African”. So you think it has nothing to do with you? Think again!

To what degree is racism playing a major role in the current debate? No one knows for sure. But, what I do know is that it's giving some people a platform on which to launch their “social agenda” and renew the so-called” racial war”.

There is a cause for concern when people are being allowed to carry loaded guns to President Obama's Town-Hall meetings. It makes me whimper and wonder when the hunting season is going to be over. We just have to keep on praying because it's getting too long. .

Oh, please, not this time, because Time, which healed our wounds, can also wound our heels.
