Ghana's most sensational gospel artiste, Bernice Offei, is celebrating her thirty years (30) in the gospel music industry. It has been three decades of sustained gospel music ministry combined with academic and professional work through challenging times and seasons and with abundant grace over her life she tells this reporter “God has been so faithful”

The ace gospel diva started her music career in the year 1979, when she was in Achimota Secondary School preparing to write her Ordinary Level Examination; she got attracted to the acoustic guitar and for that moment she decided to learn how to play the instrument. “At that time, I use to minster songs in churches and also sings with groups during church activities and crusades”.

Bernice recorded her first album in 1991 titled 'We are victors' after which she travelled to further her education in the United Kingdom. She came back and recorded her second album in 1991 which she calls 'Hold On'. The inspirational diva made a substantial impression with this album and it's the same album that shot her into the limelight. “This album did very well because of the titled track hold on but unfortunately the promotion of the album was not as successful as the song due to some few challenges”.

Although Bernice had challenges with her second album her inordinate passion for music made her to recorded her third and fourth album in 2000 and 2003 titled 'Me Kosu' and 'Grateful' respectively.

With an MPhil in crop science at the University of Ghana, an MSC in Information Technology from the United Kingdom, a professional banker, a wife and a mother of two, Bernice recorded her fifth album in 2007 titled 'Life'.

The album which is currently receiving a lot of air-play both on TV and radio won her two awards during the 10th edition of the MTN Ghana Music Awards as the Best Vocal Female Performer and the Song Writer of the year which coincide with her thirty years celebration in the industry, and according to her, “this is divine and prophetic”.

With three decades of doing authentic gospel, Bernice believes it is God who has been so faithful to her and therefore wishes to share this immense gift and the grace bestowed on with the rest of the world through humanitarian services by donating to an orphanage, organizing of free medical breast cancer screening at the 37 Military Hospital and a Mega Gospel Music Show at the National Theater come this Sunday the 20th of September at exactly 4:00pm.

The concert which is under the theme “God has been faithful” will feature other prominent gospel artiste like the Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Nii Okai and friends.

Backed by the award winning band Wind Afrique, the songbird, assures patrons of a performance that will keep them spellbound and jump unto their feet to say of the truth God has been faithful. “I will like to take this concert as an opportunity to interact with my fans and also to showcase my God giving talents live on stage. I urge all my fans to buy a ticket and join me this Sunday at the National theater and let praise the name of the Lord for he has been faithful” she said humbly.

The affable banker sees her thirty years celebration as an opportunity to thank the Lord for his grace and mercy which has sustained her though the years and to encourage all especially the youth to pursue up in the educational ladder no matter what other gifts they may have since educations opens more doors for the expression of one's talent s and abilities.
