Reports say continuing torrential rainfall in Sekondi Takoradi has led to floods in most parts of the metropolis leaving several residents stranded in their rooms. The worst affected areas were Kojokrom, Anaji and Kwesimintsim.
Most workers were not able to report for duty early. The same is the situation for market women and store keepers, thus holding up brisk commercial activity often associated with Takoradi.
No incidents of loss of life and property have been reported but weather watchers have cautioned parents to ensure that their children stay indoors. Those who are living in low lying areas are also advised to take pre-cautionary measures in order not to be over-taken by events.
