Let me be one of the first to congratulate Chibuzor on his nomination by the Presidency to the position of the MD - NDDC. As a fellow "contender" (based on media reports) to the same significant position, let me doff my hat and say to us all that the Niger Delta has won. With someone passionate about the affairs of the region and stubborn to the old way at the helm, today marks a milestone in the history of the Niger Delta.
As my fellow Rivers man and also my subcommittee partner on the Niger Delta Technical Committee, I am confident he will do well. Let us all cover his every footstep with prayer and wish him the very best in this his new assignment. One of our own in the Niger Delta Technical Committee has been chosen.. That isn't a bad start. Never thought I would admit this but Yar 'Adua may mean business in the Niger Delta after all.
I have said consistently that the problem not just with the Niger Delta but with Nigeria lies in leadership. The leadership at all levels. NDDC now has a chance to chart a new course. I pray Nigeria indeed all Nigerians will learn from this example. I don't know much about other board members except my brother the very brilliant Emmanuel Georgewill from Rivers and the very committed Tony Orubo from Bayelsa but if their antecedents are anything to go by, we have a crop of people here who will ensure the best is done.
My thoughts and my prayers are with all of them. They need our support especially at such a crucial time.

RECONSTITUTED NDDC BOARD - "MI
Braide Eniye-Mason | Port Harcourt-Nigeria (Location: Nigeria) | 7/19/2009 3:39:00 PM
Did I just read ur lips correctly, that it's a milestone in d Niger Delta simply because, Chibuzor (MD, NDDC) is "passionate" and "stubborn"? When will we understand that NDDC posts are profession-sensitive positions - with professionalism being primary qualification, then passion, b4 political inclinations - whether for ND or against "old way @ d helm" or in loyalty to any concern? Selection of capable hands like Arc. E.I.I Etteh shows that u can get the order right for once. In Nigeria, we make congratulatory messages for everybody that ascends power, no matter the issues @ hand. Is it not obvious why? Our loyalties & stomach, not necessarily having evaluated d responsibilities @ hand!
