Hohoe, July 2, GNA – Rev Fr Dr Fred Mawuli Agogo of Nsawam Catholic Church on Wednesday arrested one Sampson Tanko, suspected to have run away from a crime he had committed at Anyiman in the Eastern Region.
On board the same vehicle from Nsawam enroute to Hohoe, the priest spotted Tanko bleeding from fresh multiple cuts that he (Tanko) tried to conceal.
Tanko told the Ghana News Agency that he was attacked by unknown assailants on his farm at Ankaase, a village near Anyinam on June 25 and fired at his assailants in self defence.
Mr Daniel Ablordey, Hohoe Municipal Police Commander, corroborated the story and said Tanko was sent to the Hohoe Hospital where his wounds were stitched.
He appealed to the general public to be vigilant and be particular about things around them which could give leads on crimes.
Tanko has been transferred to Anyinam Police to assist with investigations.
