THIS HYDRA -HEADED ARM ROBBERY
24.05.2009 LISTEN

It has become abundantly clear that the spate of ARMROBBERY which has become a hydra-headed monster, a stinking social canker and an affront to the economy of Ghana, which hitherto was not like that at all. In the very recent past what Ghana was experiencing was mostly pick-pocketing here and there, and and even that was mostly in Accra. But one is unspeakably confounded and dumbfounded to hapelessly and helplessly witness what is happening to mother Ghana now is this painfully, shameful and socially degrading experience of such a henious, ugly-headed and faceless armrobbery.

The most painful and excruciating part is these kleptocratic sons and daugthers of the devil are seemingly having a field day in their nocturnal harrasing, distresing and worst of all sometimes even killing people right under the nose of the so called night patrolling security, which nobody knows where on earth they are patrolling, and nothing very concrete and convincing is being done to adequately protect the people of Ghana. But few weeks ago when an MP was attacked in his house, it was raised at the Parliament by the speaker about the need to work on security personel for the MPs. But are the MPs the only full-blooded Ghanaians that need to be adequately protected?

To all intent and purposes, it is the ordinary Ghanaian' worker's tax paying money that we use to pay the security enforcement and to demand for the least, it is the greast and anxious anticipation of all Ghanaians to be fully protected from these dark angels from the pit of hell ( robbers) who are perturbing and disturbing the peaceful sleep of genuinely hard working Ghanaians. During one of the radio stations calls on this inglorious subject, many expressed their naked fear when going to bed in the night. It cannot be glossed over that one of the numerous factors that has contributed to this insalubrious armrobbery is the so much influx of neighbouring nationals into Ghana.

Therefore, the onus rest on the government not only to see to the deployment of the security nightly for the necessary protection but equally significant is a meticulous check should be mounted to check other nationals flocking into the country with all sorts of pretenxious intensions as well as other areas that have inadvertently left unchecked and as a results paved a leeway for this criminal insurgence.

Its unequivocally heartrending and very truncating that these whims, punks and heartless hooligans just unconscienably wake up and unleash their dastard deeds on hard working, innocent and well-meaning Ghanaians who are sleeping to wake up to do something meaningful with their lives but very sadly they are bounced upon by these psychopat and sociopat criminals who rummage and seized their sweated-earned belongings at will due to blatantly lack of inadequate protection. And the most stabbing, chilling and highly untenable of all is that, more often than not these criminal beasts and donkeys never exercise the least conscience but go to the unimagineable and dispicably and elastic end by killing anybody that dare to cross their path for fear of identification.

A few days ago it came into one of the news papers that a family was attacked by these brigands and very pathetically a pregnant woman was killed in Kumasi and some other time too a policeman was shot, with a lot of countless instances. This is how ugly, stinking and satanically proportion that this spate of armrobbery is getting to, Therefore to say the least, the government has to wake up from its slumber and its sombre and equip both police and soldiers as well as encouraging the community watchdog to wipe out this cloudy and frightening sword of democle which is threatingly hanging upon this nation

Indeed, the government should be alert and doing because this ongoing canker has a serious economic and social setback on the nation as it profoundly discourages investors in the country and would-be investors who may get a wind of this seriouse death trap.To all intents and purposes, it is believed that this ugly trend of armrobberism has gained scared-crow among our brothers and sisters abroad that most of them even fear to come home to contribute to the building of the nation for obviouse reasons. Worst still, another disturbing trend is a lingering rumour about the fact that there are section of airport taxi drivers who have become appalled sadist and flagrant disregard of others life and have secretly involved themselves by marking and targetting the new arrivals that they drive them from airport to their houses as a prey to bounce on them in the middle of the night.

It is therefore the incumbent on the airport authorities to take a cogent and decisive action among others by at least registering drivers who drive these unsuspecting brothers and sisters from abroad home. The underlying rational behind this is to hold that driver responsible should anything uncomely happen in any day to that person.

All said and done, this wolf cry by the government that no money, no money syndrome is nothing than balderdash and does not hold any water since its no secret the wanton and blatant embezzlements and misappropriations diseases going on among both past and present government officials. Ghana and for that matter, Africa, has never gotten money before to do something meaningful for its people as the rest of the world is doing but the skyrocketing looting and misapproriation going at the higher places, the least said about the better. No wonder the superiority complex westerners have tagged us as third world due to our third-class manner of thinking.

Its, however, my fervent prayer that God visit the continent of Africa for He alone has solutions to our problems.
