Asamankese, April 30, GNA - Asamankese Circuit Court has remanded Richard Yomoh a 29-year-old farmer in prison custody for allegedly defiling a 13-year- old school drop-out.
Yomoh who pleaded guilty would re-appear on May 11.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector X.C. Okorey said sometime in March this year, Yomoh who lived with the victim and her grandmother at Akroabo, a village near Suhum sent her to buy 20 Ghana Pesewas worth of gari and sugar.
He said when the victim brought the items, Yomoh dragged her into his room and defiled her.
The prosecution said after the act, Yomoh promised the victim 50 Ghana Pesewas but some few days after Yomoh had failed to honour his promise, the victim informed her grandmother about the incident.
He said when Yomoh was confronted, he admitted the offence and a report was made to the police who arrested him on April 22, and after investigations charged with the offence.
