Accra, April 30, GNA – The Brethren of Lodge of Research, a freemasonry on Thursday presented hospital equipment worth 2,100 Ghana Cedis to the Ga South District Hospital to help in its operations.
The items are 12 concrete benches and three blood Pressure apparatus.
Mr Kofi Nti Ofori, Grand Master of the Lodge said the donation formed part of the institution's annual charity, adding “We are here today to perform one of the key tenets of freemasonry, which is charity”.
He said the institution was committed to helping to meet the needs of the vulnerable and needy in society, “We are taught that charity is the chief of every social virtue and the distinguishing characteristic of every Mason”.
Mr Ofori noted that the institution would continue to contribute its quota in diverse ways to make society a better place.
Dr. (Mrs) Matilda Agyemang, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital who received the items expressed gratitude for the gesture and called on other institutions to emulate.
