The Board Chairman of the Country Awards Council - Ghana, His Awardship Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd.) has lauded the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his dynamism, innovation and modernization of the chieftaincy institution to suit the growing needs and changing challenges of society.

Quashigah observed that Developmental oriented traditional kings like the Asantehene, the Paramount Chief of Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV; the Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, the Oman-Hene of New Juaben Daasebre Dr. Oti Boateng; and Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II need to be commended for their developmental initiatives in support of Ghana's development and suggests that their leadership style be emulated by the rest of the traditional rulers who perhaps are also doing a lot already but have not come to the limelight yet.

He further noted that these personalities have changed the face of the chieftaincy institution in the country which has brought development to the people of Ghana unprecedented in the history of chieftaincy in Ghana.

According to the CACG Board Chairman Major Quashigah, who has been publicly acclaimed by Otumfuor as his special son, the celebration of Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu's decade of enthronement, has seen exceptional achievements of Asanteman and Oman Ghana which is a mark of visionary, honest and dedicated leadership worth emulating by politicians.

Major Quashigah himself a Marguna(Development Chief) of Gushiegu and Kanyiwura (the chief who fulfils his promise to the people) of Daboya said, Otumfuo's legacy is extraordinary in Ghana's chieftaincy history in recent times and his storied accomplishments cut across all spheres of national developmental agenda.

In addition Major Quashigah said Otumfuo's hallmark should serve as a living testimony by which other traditional rulers must emulate since national development demands all hands on deck regardless of one's political affiliation.

On the issue of Otumfuo's proposed establishment of a Royal University Centre For Excellence which is aimed at developing a holistic youth to face current challenges, Major Quashigah said this is the biggest legacy of a true leader and his followers who make education their topmost priority. And called on Ghanaians to help in every way to make this dream a reality particularly for its focus on the development of sports and African culture among others.

Meanwhile Major Quashigah said the Country Awards Council is putting plans in place to confer Lifetime Achievement Awards and Fellowship Status of the Ghana National Honorary Awards Fame, an Agency of CACG on the above named distinguished personalities for their gallant service to mother Ghana. Bravo to them.
