Youth development is an essential part of every nation's development policy agenda since they form a greater segment of our society. In view of this there is the need to offer them with the necessary resources to ensure their proper up bringing.
The Vice Patron of the Board of Patrons of the Country Awards Council - Ghana, His Awardship Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd.) said, the on going 2nd batch of the Senior High School (SHS) Division of the National Exchange Programme School is one of the pragmatic interventions designed to promote and develop young people whose skills and experiences can match the demands of our time and the future.
His Awardship Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd.) has further noted that, the future of Ghanaian youth is very bright and has therefore called on Individuals, Civil Society Groups, NGO's and Corporate Institutions to sponsor programmes that will help develop the youth and offer them the requisite skills for lifelong sustainability and also enable them contribute to national development.
The SHS exchange programme is aimed at promoting a holistic approach towards academic advancement, bridging of gap amongst schools thereby promoting a common educational platform and the true Ghanaian cultural identity in order to build a united front for national development. The programme is also for the sole purpose of developing quality leaders to suit all geographical terrain and further promote internal tourism. That national exchange programme has also been designed to ensure volunteerism and service to the nation is high on young person's development agenda. It will further seek to promote sharing of skills and harnessing of ideas amongst students, lifelong networking and also to afford students a lifetime opportunity to enrol in their dream schools. The pursuit of sporting activities, health programmes such as the practise of regenerative health and HIV/AIDS awareness creation has been inculcated in the programme to give a broader approach towards its management.
The ongoing senior high schools exchange programme is expected to end on Monday 9th of March 2009 at the Accra Academy.
Meanwhile, the CACG Vice Patron His Awardship Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd.) is to embark on a tree day familiarization tour to the Eastern, Volta and Central Regions. The tour begins today 5th March and ends on 7th March 2009. The tour will send the CACG Vice Patron to Krobo Girls in the Eastern; Ola Girls, Mawuko Girls and Keta Senior High Schools and Zion College in the Volta Region. The rest are Apam, Aggrey Memorial and Mfantsipim Senior High Schools in the Central Region.
His Awardship Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd.) will be accompanied by the Country Director of the Country Awards Council - Ghana His Awardship Kobla Asamani and some CACG officials.
