Danish Ambassador calls on the new Transport Minister

Mr Mike Hammah, Minister of Transport, on Wednesday expressed governments' commitment to enforce road safety regulations in order to curb the recent upsurge of road accident.

He said government would give the needed support to the Motor Transport Unit of the Ghana Police Service and the Road Safety Commission to make road transport safer.

The minister said this when the Mr Stig Barlyng, Danish Ambassador paid a courtesy call on him in Accra.

Mr Hammah briefed the Ambassador on the activities of the ministry and said government would collaborate with other development partners to upgrade roads, intensify road safety education and improve the transport sector.

He expressed the hope that relations between Ghana and Denmark would be further strengthened for mutual benefit.

Mr Barlyng congratulated the minister for his appointment and said his government was also ready to further support Ghana to develop the transport sector.
