Cherish your Relationships- Public told

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), George Appiah-Sakyi, Ashanti Regional Co-ordinator of the Domestic Violence Victim's Support Unit (DOVVSU), has advised Ghanaians to cherish their marriage relationships.

This, he said, would avert cases of broken homes which bring untold hardships on children thereby hampering their growth and development.

ASP Appiah-Sakyi gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi on Wednesday.

The DOVVSU Co-ordinator urged parents to ensure there were no break-ups by learning to settle disputes and other issues amicably, in order to stay together for the well-being of their children.

He maintained that children were the assets of the nation and they must be given the right atmosphere to grow, so as to contribute to the country's socio-economic development.

Mr Appiah-Sakyi noted that if parents and the society in general fail to ensure this, their children would become social deviants and a liability to the nation.
