A 20 year old Kwabena Adjei from Nkoranza died at St. Theresa's Hospital at Nkoranza last Tuesday after he involved in a motor accident on the Nkoranza-Ejura road.
Mr Peter Akwasi Denteh, Superintendent in-charge of Nkoranza District Police, told the Ghana News Agency that two vehicles, a Daf bus with registration number ER 336 X and an Opel Astra taxi cab with registration number GW 7029 R collided at Ayerede a community along the road.
He said Adjei and another passenger were in a taxi cab that suddenly veered on to the lane of a bus with about 70 passengers travelling from Ejura through Nkoranza to Bunkrugu in the Northern region.
Superintendent Denteh said the driver of the bus Mukala Mohammed lost control of the vehicle, which rammed into the taxi and subsequently fell into a ditch.
Adjei and the other person whose name was not given sustained severe injury and were rushed to the hospital but Adjei could not survive. The other victim was still responding to treatment.
Superintendent Denteh said the two drivers had been arrested to help the police in investigations.
