The Executive Committee of the Advocates for Progressive Change (APC) extends its hearty congratulations to you on your ascendancy to the Presidency of the Republic of Ghana.
Your election as the President of the Republic is an occasion for celebration not only by the members of the National Democratic Congress, but by all Ghanaians.
Ghanaians overwhelmingly embraced your message of change for a better Ghana – A better man for a better Ghana indeed.
We believe that Ghanaians agreed with us when we stated in our endorsement of your candidacy that Prof. Atta Mills is a person who will have the interest of all Ghanaians, and a person who can reduce the political tension in the country. Your initial pronouncement after your election that you will be President for all Ghanaians is a testimony to this assertion.
Your campaign was a remarkable one, door–to-door, one-on-one, and at a monetary disadvantage. Ghanaians have shown that money is not the supreme factor in choosing a good leader.
So please accept our sincere congratulations.
Our congratulations also go to the Vice President H.E. John Mahama, a worthy partner who we believe will be an able VP as you lead and guide the country, and creating opportunities for all.
The NDC must be proud of itself in its organization, unity and vigilance.
We also acknowledge the yeoman's job done by the Electoral Commission under such a tremendous pressure.
We salute the Ghanaian electorate which showed Africa and the World that Ghana is on its way as a leader in the democratic process. The elections also elevated the status of Ghana as a beacon of democracy in the international community.
Mr. President, you are now called to a perfect mission. The work is enormous. Success will be reflected in the government's ability to reduce poverty in our communities, safe from the pervasive drug culture and high armed criminal activities.
We wish you success in your undertakings as the president of Ghana.
