NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
New Patriotic Party (NPP) paraphernalia which virtually vanished from the streets of Accra soon after the December 28 presidential run-off seem to have resurfaced, bringing fresh life into the nation's largest opposition party.

Over the weekend, the Central Business District of Accra, including Makola, Okaishie, Rawlings Park and Tudu grabbed the most attention when supporters of the party partied and made merry, despite the party's electoral defeat.

With party members dressed in the party's paraphernalia which were on display all day, the 'celebration' was so captivating that supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) were nowhere to be found.

Similarly, the same scene was repeated at the hawkers' mall located at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, where NPP fanatics and sympathizers went on a celebration galore whilst at the same time selling their wares.

With Nana Akufo-Addo songs blasting in almost every corner of Central Accra, the activists seemed to have put their painful loss behind them and sent signals that all hope was not lost.

In the cause of their celebration, some of them even went to the extent of challenging their main political opponent, the NDC, saying if they really won the recent election on a clean note, they should also throw a party to celebrate their victory.

The atmosphere was so charged that a number of buyers were heard wondering how with such large numbers, the NPP lost to the NDC.

The supporters, largely women clad in party T-shirts and other paraphernalia, also held a Thanksgiving Service at the Ghana Trade Fair Center earlier in the day, where the party's flag-bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo thanked the Almighty God for taking the party through the elections.

Nana Akufo-Addo also commended party faithful and loyalists for their support during the elections.

At Okaishie, huge public address systems were mounted at separate points as party members in a joyous mood, danced to songs by Daddy Lumba, Kawbena Kwabena and A-Plus.

Most of the traders bragged that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo actually won the election but was robbed, saying he would bounce back in 2012 to wrestle power from President John Evans Atta Mills.

At the UTC area in Accra, the same scenario was witnessed with fans of NPP singing and dancing to Daddy Lumba's 'Nana Oye Winner' song. Again, NDC faithful were nowhere to be found.

The story was not different at the Kantanmanto area where second-hand clothes dealers were spotted doing their own thing.

Some were heard saying “Nana is the best”, “Nana ooo Nana, NPP all the way” and “bye-elections looms in Ghana”.

The euphoria stretched all the way to other parts of the nation's capital, including Kaneshie Market area, Abeka Lapaz and Taifa.

At the Thanksgiving Service proper, thousands of supporters thronged the Trade Fair Centre to partake in thanking the Almighty.

Former Ministers of State, Members of Parliament and party bigwigs including ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor attended the ceremony.

In all things give thanks to God. Ghana is moving forward, even in the developed nations, people rob in elections.
Its good to leave the defeat behind, organise and move on from now. Kufour's admnistration did well, we all believe NPP will come back!!.
