The special voting in Tamale Metropolis took off at Kamina Barracks, Jubilee Park and Dabokpa Technical/Vocational Institute at exactly 0700 hours on Tuesday.

The special voting is to allow security personnel and public service workers who would be on duty on December 7, to exercise their franchise.

At Kamina Barracks polling station a fair number of security personnel and public servants had queued to cast their votes in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The exercise was monitored by Mr Sylvester Kanyi, Northern Regional Electoral Officer and his Deputy Mr Bruce Ayisi.

Voting at the other two polling stations was equally smooth and peaceful as an encouraging number of voters waited patiently for their turn to cast their ballot.

As at 0830 hours, only the polling agents of NPP and NDC were at post at Kamina Barracks polling station.

Only the NDC polling agent was at Dabokpa polling station as at 0900 hours while the political agents for NPP, NDC and DFP were at the Jubilee Park polling station as at 0930 hours. Each polling station had been supplied with its full complement of election materials thus facilitating voting.
