THE GOVERNMENT has initiated a major face-lift of the Tweneboah Koduah Senior High School to the tune of GH˘1,570,000, as part of initiatives to better the lot of the people of Kumawu.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kumawu constituency, Mr. Yaw Baah, who is seeking re-election in the polls on Sunday, disclosed further that the government had sourced funds to the tune of US$120 million, to arrest the perennial water problem facing Kwahu, Konongo and Kumawu.
He told supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), at the launch of his campaign at Kumawu, that US$30 million had been allocated out of the lot for the Kumawu Water project, which he said, would start very soon.
According to the MP, he had been instrumental in the development of the constituency, and pointed to the construction of schools, teachers quarters, provision of street light and electric poles for communities.
Yaw Baah said construction works were being done on all the roads in the Brawam area of the constituency, and mentioned that he was very instrumental in the creation of the Sekyere Afram Plains District with Kumawu as its capital, which hitherto was part of the Sekyere East District.
“I played a very significant role in realising our long cherished dream of having a separate district,” MP Yaw Baah asserted. He also said he was part of moves to ensure that the area was selected among the 23 beneficiary districts of the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA).
