Computers for Dabala Secondary/Technical would raise student performance

Mr Bernard Yadogla, Headmaster of Dabala Secondary Technical School (DATEC) has hailed the commissioning of a computer laboratory for his school at the weekend, as a huge inducement to teacher and student performance.
He said for many years Information Technology (IT) remained mere theory at the school, making it difficult for students to appreciate the subject.
The school's Parent Teacher Association (PTA) funded the project, which involved block refurbishment, purchase of 20 computers and accessories, at a total cost of almost Ghc 15,000.
Mr Livingstone Agbeyesro, PTA Chairman who handed over the laboratory said it was part of the Association's plans to improve teaching and learning in the school.
He said the PTA remained committed to the growth of the school and appealed to other stakeholders to contribute their quota.
Mr Dickson Ahoshie, Assistant Director of Education who represented the South-Tongu District Director of Education urged PTAs of other schools in the area to help raise their status. Togbe Kpala II, Assistant PTA Chairman who chaired the function expressed the hope that central government and local government bodies would do a lot more for the school than they were doing now.
