Koku Anyidoho: NDC will win election first round
25.11.2008 LISTEN

The opposition National Democratic Congress has predicted a first round victory with just twelve days to go for the December polls.

"I don't want to be a clairvoyant in terms of elections, all I know is NDC will win in the first round," Koku Anyidoho head of the Atta Mills campaign team disclosed in an interview with Joy News reporter Stephen Anti on Tuesday.

Mr. Anyidoho is however unable to predict how many seats the NDC would win in the polls, but maintains one touch victory is unassailable.

The party is on the final lap of campaigning and would storm the Eastern Region, home of the New Patriotic Party presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo on Wednesday.

Mr. Anyidoho maintains the region has in previous elections been a strong base for the party and is confident the region would replicate its support for the party in December.

He dismissed assertions that the party is devoting more attention to regions which have been unpopular towards the party.

He cited the Afram plains, Shai Hills and Kibi areas in the Eastern Region as strong holds of the NDC, adding, the party would increase its votes come the December polls.

He accused the NPP of reneging on their campaign promise in 2000 and 2004 elections and is hopeful the wind of change will blow the NPP out of office.

On his three-day tour of the Eastern Region, Professor Mills will pay courtesy calls on the Okyehene, Tafohene and the Omanhene of the New Juabeng Traditional Area.
