Dr Ahmad Ali Ghane, president of the Islamic University College of Ghana (IUCG) on Wednesday called on Muslims not to do anything that could destabilise the nation during the forthcoming general election.
Dr Ali Ghane who made the call when he visited the Coalition of Muslim Organisation, Ghana (COMOG) in Accra said peaceful coexistence was a prerequisite for total development of mankind.
The president who cited various deeds of Prophet Mohammed to support his call urged Muslims to give good news to their fellow human beings because that was what Prophet Mohammed expected of them.
He promised to look into educational problems facing the Muslim community in the country to ensure that they (Muslims) took their right place in the implementation of the country's developmental agenda.
Major Mohammed Easah (Rtd), president of COMOG said his organization and the IUCG shared similar beliefs and principles, which had led to the long-standing relationship between them.
He called on other Muslim countries particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to emulate the IUCG by establishing Muslim University of Science and Technology in the country as her contribution towards the development of education and Islam.
He pledged COMOG's continued co-operation with the IUCG to enhance the quality of education and strengthen the bonds of friendship among Muslims.
