The Convention People's Party (CPP) parliamentary aspirant for Dome Trobu/Amasaman, Mrs Thelma Lamptey, is processing her Tax Clearance Certificate to be able to file her nomination papers with the Electoral Commission.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has fixed October 16 and 17 for all presidential and parliamentary aspirants to file their nominations in order to contest the December elections.

Mrs Lamptey said she would be ready to file her papers on the dates for the nominations.

She has meanwhile appealed to the electorate to give the party the mandate to administer the affairs of the nation in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

She said with the CPP assuming the reins of power, there was no iota of doubt that the party would transform the country's economic fortunes.

Mrs Lamptey was addressing party faithful, at a well attended rally at Pokuase, at which she promised them that better days were ahead of Ghanaians if they made the right choice by voting for the CPP.

“Now that you have seen both the NDC and NPP which have not brought any economic relief; the CPP is the only credible option for the people to vote into power”, she said, adding that it was the commitment of the party to formulate and implement policies with a human heart and face.

Mrs Lamptey, who is an educationist, advised the party's footsoldiers to conduct the electioneering in absolute peace.

The Trobu/Amasaman CPP parliamentary aspirant was not happy about the level of development in her constituency, and said with the CPP in the saddle there would be no reason why the pace of development would not be quickened in the interest of the people.

“The CPP has demonstrated resilience and enough capacity in pursuing policies with human face before and it is still imbued with a lot more of energy and young human resource personnel today to be able to achieve the people's development aspiration”, she said.

Talking about the need for peace and tranquility in the country Mrs Lamptey urged all Ghanaians to play their role well to ensure that the presidential and parliamentary elections were conducted in a manner that would make our democracy grow.

“Without peace there can be no meaningful development and why don't we strive to sustain the peace we are enjoying now and even build upon it”she asked and was quick to explain that with peace, discpline and tranquility most, if not all of our objectives in terms of development would be achieved.
