GTP Launches 2009 Collections

When issues of fashion come to play, there is one particular brand in the textile industry that comes to mind — GTP.

This is because of the company's persistent and consistent programme of showcasing its latest designs and collections to accentuate the role of fashion in the modern world.

Previously, the Ghana Textiles Printing (GTP), now known as Tex Styles Company Limited, had used the Wax Style contest to popularise its designs, as well unearth talents in the fashion and design industry.

Presently, some of the great designers climbing to the top had been products of the Wax Style contests, notable among them being Eunice Aba Sackey, Thomas Safo Boakye, Isaac Donkor, among others.

However, the company decided to change its style of unleashing fashion onto the connoisseurs through some innovations.

In November last year, a great fashion show was organised at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium during the four-nation soccer tournament that preceded the Ghana 2008 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Fashion conscious fans who witnessed the show can attest to the quality of display that was at work.

Come next Sunday, at the Essipon Sports Stadium, where the Ghana Black Stars host Lesotho in the last group matches for qualification to the 2010 Word Cup/Africa Cup of Nations, another beautiful event is expected to precede the match.

The show, which will launch the GTP Collection 2009, is expected to be fun-laden and eye-catching, with splendid display.

The Marketing Director of Tex Styles Company, Mr Kwabena Yentumi, said the show was scheduled for that particular day after the company had renewed its relationship with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with unflinching support for the senior national team.

He revealed that the company had already presented GH¢40,000 to motivate the Black Stars to a resounding victory.

The theme for the new collection is, “Harnessing our design gems to inspire our creativity today and to look forward to the future”.

Themes for previous collections have been based on education, health, the environment, Ghanaian consciousness, among others.
