NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
President John Agyekum Kufuor last Saturday inspected ongoing preparatory works at the site for the construction of a new $25-million sports stadium at Cape Coast.
The preparatory works, including levelling of the site and filling of a nearby swampy area to prevent flooding and the construction of drains, are expected to be completed by the end of this month.
The construction of the 15,000-seater capacity stadium which will, among other facilities, have an electronic score board and an athletics track, is expected to be completed within 18 months and is to be undertaken by Polish construction firm, Pol-Mot Holdings, and their Ghanaian counterparts, Motherwell International Limited.
President Kufuor who was briefed on the progress of work by the sub-contractor, Nana Yaw Kissi of High Brains Construction Limited, said he was satisfied with the amount of work done so far.
It would be recalled that in May this year the President cut the sod to commence the construction of the oval-shaped stadium amid jubilation by residents of the municipality. Source: Daily Graphic - Daily Graphic
