Evil political campaigns are always
based on one major presumption
cotrolled by the egocentric brains of
the politicians, namely:get the
power to be on the top and forget
about the very People who granted
them the power. - By: FRANCIS TAWIAH Duisburg - Germany

THE TSITO township in the Ho Municipality was on Wednesday thrown into a state of shock when news swept through the area that an Igbo man who chased his wife to Ghana, had allegedly killed himself.

The deceased, Kamori Lawah, 40, was suspected to have taken a poisonous substance, perhaps out of frustration, after failing to convince the wife to either release their two-year-old baby to him or return to her matrimonial home.

Before his arrival in Ghana, the deceased was alleged to have brutally assaulted his wife, Shubuzor, whose mother is a native of Tsito, and consequently chased her out of his house in Nigeria with a cutlass, thereby prompting the woman to pack bag and baggage and head for Ghana.

However, sources said shortly after the woman had arrived at Tsito on Monday, her husband also emerged from nowhere, allegedly demanding that the woman either follow him back or release their two-year-old child to him, failure of which he would kill himself at Tsito and create problem for the in-law and her family.

He was also said to have offered money to some people in the town, asking them to kidnap the child from the mother for him.

The in-law of the deceased, Peace Dzirentsi, who expressed sorrow over the unfortunate incident, in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, disclosed that she was in town on Monday when information reached her that the daughter, who was with the husband in Nigeria had come looking for her.

She said alarmed by the message, she ran to the house only to find Shubuzor's luggage outside, as the doors to the rooms were locked.

She revealed further that not too long after the daughter had come to the house with the complaint that she had been kicked out of her matrimonial home by her husband after a fight, her son-in-law was also led into the house by a young man.

She said no sooner had Kamori set eyes on her daughter than he begun to insult her, with threats to deal with her if she failed to release the child to him.

Madam Dzirentsi said thereupon, Kamori left the house and never returned until the following day when he came looking drunk and reiterating to the wife that he would commit suicide if his demands were not met. She added that Kamori went to the extent of reporting the issue to the police.

According to her, they were later invited by the police at Tsito over the issue, where the couple met to resolve the issue. However, in the night of Tuesday, after meeting the police during the day, Kamori, she alleged, came into the house, complaining about stomach pains. He had diarrhoea and started vomitting while demanding palm oil.

She narrated that sensing danger, she rushed the victim to the Tsito Health Center, where he was referred to the Ho Municipal Hospital. However, he passed away just when they were about to take him to Ho.

Madam Dzirentsi said this was not the first time the man had come to the house from far away Nigeria to take his wife back after he had forced her out himself, recounting that there was a time he used a sharp object to inflict a wound on his own head because the wife had refused to go back to Nigeria with him.

She disclosed that the man later confessed to his wife that he had taken in shaving powder.

When contacted, police sources confirmed the story but said investigations were still ongoing.

The body has since been deposited at the morgue in Ho.
