THE management of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) last Friday honoured five non-staff members of the corporation for their contribution to GBC's achievements over the years.

They are Prof. Lawrence Addai Boadi who has for many years written and presented the "Everyday English" on GBC Radio, Nana Bosompra for his innovative drama including 'Cantata' on GTV and Ms Afia Ansaa Ampene, for producing and presenting "Mmaa Nkommo " on GTV.

Others are Dan Afari Yeboah who has been hosting "What do you know?" on Radio and GTV and Kwabena Yeboah for hosting sports programme on GTV, especially producing and presenting "Sports Highlights."

They were each given a plaque and a citation.

The Director General, William Ampem-Darko was also rewarded for bringing tremendous transformation to GBC over the past year.

The awards formed part of activities marking the 73rd anniversary of GBC.

In a short address, Mr Ampem-Darko asked the staff to focus on the corporation's core values which include team work, integrity, professionalism and hard work.

He assured the public that GBC will continue to give them good programmes as pacesetters in the broadcasting industry.

Mr Ampem-Darko said with the proliferation of the electronic media a flop by the GBC will plung the whole electronic media into the doldrums.

The Director of Corporate Affairs, Ms Doris Kuwornu, appealed to the staff to continue to do their best to make the corporation maintain its lead role in the industry.
