THE GUINNESS International Master Brewer, Fergal Murray, says there is greatness in every drop of the world's most famous stout – Guinness – that is produced in 51 countries across the globe.

He has, therefore, commended both management and staff of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL), a subsidiary of Guinness International, for ensuring quality production of the product on the Ghanaian local market.

Sharing his passion to the media, at a press briefing in Kumasi, Mr. Murray, who is in the country for a five-day working visit, said he had come to Ghana, in order to spend quality time meeting with loyal consumers of Guinness.

He took time to share his tips, on the best ways to savour the Greatness of the Guinness product, and recommended a five-step process, which he indicated, would ensure that consumers could experience the greatness in every drop of the Guinness product.

The Guinness Master Brewer enumerated the step processes as delivery, serve, appearance, taste and aroma, and the finish.

According to him, the delivery means that Guinness' distinctive, rich flavour tastes can be best enjoyed, when served at 10°C, while the serve, which is step two, indicates the best way to pour from an angle, 45°, into a glass, allowing the creamy head to develop.

On appearance, he explained that it was for one to appreciate the rich, dark colour, and check for a constant flow of bubbles, which show the beer is fresh.

With the fourth step, which focuses on Taste and Aroma, the Master Brewer recommended savouring the distinctive, roasted aroma and unique bitter-sweet taste.

The fifth and final step, which Mr. Murray termed as the Finish, enables consumers to enjoy the strong flavours, and sensations lingering in the mouth.

The Marketing Manager of GGBL, Mr. Kweku Sekyi-Cann, in a welcome address, expressed delight and appreciation to the Guinness Internal Master Brewer, for having come to Ghana to join in the celebration of the greatness and success chalked so far, ahead of Guinness' 250 Years Anniversary.

“We are delighted to welcome Fergal to Ghana, and work with him to celebrate the greatness that is Guinness®. We are very proud to be producing some of the best tasting Guinness® liquid in the world, and look forward to celebrating with all of our loyal consumers,” he affirmed.

He reiterated the company's message for consumers, to enjoy Guinness responsibly, while describing Mr. Murray's job as unique, having been the custodian of the magic and myth of Guinness.

“As part of his job, he travels the world, introducing people to the greatness of Guinness, and sharing their enjoyment of the distinctive international brand. He has been an integral part of the production, for billions of pints of Guinness, and has visited literally thousands of bars worldwide, for quality assurance,” he concluded.
