Cape Coast, June 18, GNA – A Cape Coast Circuit Court on Wednesday granted Samuel Kweku Aidoo 32, a driver GH¢5,000 bail by for allegedly causing the death of a 12-year-old boy Seth Abdulai.
Aidoo pleaded not guilty to driving carelessly and injuring the victim resulting in his death and would re-appear on Wednesday, June 25.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo said on May 11, 2004, Aidoo drove a Nissan Diesel truck at a top speed from Twifo-Praso to Twifo- Praso Zongo and on reaching a spot knocked down the deceased, a pupil of Abura Dunkwa Primary School who was crossing the road.
He said the victim sustained various injuries and was admitted at the Central Regional Hospital but died while on admission and the accused was arrested and after investigations charged with the offence. Source: GNA - Ghana News Agency
