NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
Mr. Darling McKenzie Armah, Assemblyman for Agona Nsaba, the newly created District Capital has appealed to the Ghana Highways Authority (GHA) to erect speed ramps in the town to avert vehicles knocking down people, especially children.
He said the erection of the ramps had become necessary following the increasing rate of vehicles knocking down people in the town.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Agona Nsaba, Mr Armah said last year a total of ten people, including children were knocked and killed by vehicles while five people have been knocked down this year.
Mr Armah expressed concern that many applications submitted to Swedru Office of the GHA for the erection of the ramps were yet to received attention.
The Assemblyman said the people would not like to take the law into their hands to erect ramps by themselves.
Mr Armah appealed to the District Chief Executive for the area and Swedru Divisional Commander of Motor Traffic Transport Unit (MTTU) to use their good offices to save the people from such accidents, else they would be compelled them to erect the ramps. Source: GNA - Ghana News Agency
