THE chairman of the Ho Presbytery of the Global Evangelical Church, Reverend E.T. Barrigah, has urged Christians to remain steadfast and focused and to serve their God better in a constantly changing world.
'As Christians we are expected to serve an unchanging and Holy God in a constantly changing world,' he stressed.
Reverend Barrigah made the call at the delegates conference of the Ho Presbytery Representative Committee here last weekend.
The three-day conference was on the theme: ‘Walking the highway of holiness’.
Rev. Barrigah observed that the major challenges facing Christianity was how to serve a holy God in an increasingly corrupt and ungodly environment and pointed out that there was the need for them to be steadfast to enable them to walk the highway of His holiness.
He admonished Christians to hold politicians accountable for promises they make and urged politicians to also be mindful of their utterances adding that 'we will hold politicians to their word to prosecute issue based campaign to ensure a successful, peaceful and credible election'.
Rev. Barrigah appealed to the media and other stakeholders in the electoral process to be circumspect in their reportage, fair and unbiased towards all parties to ensure credible election that is accepted to all.
He expressed concern about the upsurge of trafficking of hard drugs in the country and charged the security agencies to step up their efforts in curbing the menace threatening the country.
Rev. Barrigah lauded the efforts of government for listening to the people to reintroduce moral and religious education in the schools curriculum as a subject on its own.
He expressed misgivings about the attitude of the congregation towards remittance and financial obligations to the church and charged the leadership of the various presbyteries not to allow the congregation to shirk its responsibilities to the church.
