A "young dark man" will arise as a leader in a Third World country; his main goal is to unite the other Third World countries to do battle with the superpowers. The area of conflict will be in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, particularly around the Adriatic and the Caspian seas and Israel. No definite winner will emerge but the strife will help set the stage for the Antichrist. Many prophecies in the Bible refer to events in this region - By: Nostradamus (Century 111, Quatrain 60)
THE DEPUTY Minister of Education, Science and Sports, Hon. Angelina Baiden-Amissah has stated that education of the right quality and relevance brings greater awareness and steady economic progress to the people.

She also pointed out that education is the key to development, and liberates people from ignorance, poverty and other problems.

Hon. Baiden-Amissah made this known when speaking at the 60th anniversary Speech and Prize-Giving Day of Ahantaman Senior High School at Ketan near Sekondi at the weekend, which had the theme “Ahantaman at 60: The Way Forward”.

She urged parents to support their wards with the requisite educational materials to enhance their studies, saying that the government had set up a committee to address problems of second cycle schools.

The headmistress of the school, Mrs. Evelyn Osei, said the school had inadequate number of classrooms, and also experienced low voltage which affected the school's electronic devices, especially computers.

She appealed to the Ministry of Education and stakeholders to consider using the school as a pilot project by providing it with a solar plant for basic electricity supply.

In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, the president of the Ahantaman Old Students Association (AHOSA), Mr. Erickson Abakah, said the association was considering putting up boys' dormitory in the school.

He also asserted that AHOSA was working out motivational packages for the headmistress, heads of departments and students.

He revealed that students had never embarked on strike action since the school's establishment, and attributed it to the high level of discipline in the school.

Mr. Abakah, who is a legal practitioner by profession, urged students of the school to take their studies seriously to attain leadership position in future.

Ms. Victoria Baiden, an old student, told DAILY GUIDE that academic standards in the school had improved tremendously due to discipline, quality supervision and commitment of the teaching staff.

She said the old students had been visiting the school occasionally to acquaint themselves with problems, and try to address them.
