Dr. Richard Anane, Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso in Kumasi, on Monday donated a cow and food items worth 1,000 Ghana cedis to the Kumasi Children's Home.
The other items were four bags of rice and two large gallons of cooking oil.
The items are to assist the needy and orphaned children in the home to also enjoy the Christmas festivities.
Presenting them, Mrs. Afriyie Anane, wife of Dr. Anane, said the donation which had been an annual affair of the family, was to ensure that the inmates enjoyed the Christmas and New Year festivities like any other children in society.
She pledged the continued support of the family to the inmates and urged God's blessing and guidance for them.
Mrs. Mabel Amponsah, a Supervising Assistant at the home, who received the items, thanked Dr Anane and the family for their continued support to the home and appealed to other benevolent organizations and individuals to assist the home to provide quality service and care for the inmates.
