Stop cheating the poor – Aboagye-Mensah

By

The Most Reverend Dr. Robert K. Aboagye-Mensah, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, has cautioned people who use their education to cheat the poor, disadvantaged and marginalized in the society to stop the practice.

He expressed worry that instead of liberating the less privileged in society from ignorance and poverty and assisting them to improve their living conditions some educated people rather exploited them.

Rev. Aboagye-Mensah said these at the closing of the 46th annual synod of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church at Dixcove.

Rev. Aboagye-Mensah said followers of Christ must use part of their resources, educational advantage, vocation and skills to assist and support those who do not have such opportunities.

He asked Christians not to become complacent about the religious achievements but to learn new ways about Christ on a daily basis adding, "the worship of Christians would become complete if we supported the poor."
