Two US companies to invest in Kumawu

Kumawu (Ash), Aug 31, GNA--Two US companies, Waston Suburban Sanitary Commission and Basic Technologies Incorporated (BTI), have expressed willingness to invest at Kumawu in the Sekyere East District of Ashanti.

BTI wants to invest in agriculture while Suburban will explore the possibility of improving the water system.

This was disclosed by Barima Asumadu Sakyi, Omanhene of Kumawu Traditional Area, when he briefed the Ghana News Agency on his recent trip to the US.

Barima Asumadu Sakyi said his discussions with the two organisations were successful and feasibility studies would soon be conducted to determine the extent of work that would be needed to improve water supply.

The Omanhene said Dr Juanita Miller of Suburban Sanitary Commission expressed the commission's desire to assist the traditional area in its developmental efforts.

He assured the two companies of the support and co-operation of the chiefs and people of the area to bring the projects into fruition. Barima Asumadu Sakyi said during his visit, he interacted with Kumawu citizens in the US to seek their help to rehabilitate the access road to the Tweneboa Koduah Secondary School.
