Ghanaian Gospel Music lovers got the thrill of their lives Sunday night at the maiden edition of what is to become an annual gospel music fiesta; Adom Praiz organized by Adom 106.3 FM.

The programme, anchored by the duo of Reverend Yaw Owusu Ansah and Gabriel Ansah, both regular voices on Adom FM, paraded a galaxy of big names in Ghanaian Gospel Music and left hardly any cold limbs in the filled-up main auditorium of the Accra International Conference Centre.

No less than twenty artistes/groups showcased their powerful and alluring voices as they rallied the auditorium in sweet adoration of God's many blessings, and there was also a keen yet 'unofficial' contest in fashion statement.

From the sleek, almost 'fragile' voices of Sam and Steve, to the domineering and commanding voices of Opiesie Esther and Kwaku Gyasi, the free-flowing chants of Vine Praise and Soul Winners, and then to the everlasting melodies of the Daughters of Glorious Jesus, the crowd yielded in admiration to every performance and poured out their hearts in adoration. Others yet, over excited and 'filled' with the 'sweetness' of the lyrics or the rhythms of the songs, shed tears of joy or simply threw themselves to the floor.

Many others became photographers instantly, and with their mobile phones flipped on to their fingertips, were either videoing their favourite artistes or making still frames of the event.

Back-to-back, the artistes gave of their best, (and the CD-sound quality was just great, thanks to Adom FM's Chief Technician, Victor Senaya and his team) rolling the evening late into the night (and almost into the Monday morning).

Adom Praiz

Overfilled with joy, patrons of Adom Praiz celebrate God's interventions in their lives.

Adom Praiz, according to Ahuma Ocansey, (Daddy Bosco) Programmes Manager at the Tema-based radio station and member of the Multimedia Group, was to celebrate God's blessings on the company and to honour Him for His faithfulness.

“We have had a very wonderful half-year and while we paused to reflect on all that has happened, we found Him only as deserving of our thanks and happily, we found out we were not alone. He blessed so many others and it showed in the numbers that turned up to rejoice with us.”

The artiste line-up was made up of the twin-pair of Sam and Steve, Tema Youth International, Moses Malm, Annette Danso, The Vine Praise, Nobel Nketiah and Bernice Offei.

Others were Willie and Mark, Florence Obinim, Ohemaa Mercy, No Tribe, Celestine Donkor, K-Cee, Moses OK and Opiesie Esther.

The rest were Gifty Osei, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Kwaku Gyasi, DSP Kofi Sarpong (the Singing Policeman, you may call him) and the Soul Winners.
