NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
When you grab a copy of 'Who go fit Challenge God'- the new album from the Toronto-based Ghanaian gospel duo of sisters Doris and Beatrice (B&D) - you cannot miss the awesome power of God, neither would you miss the wonderful blend of melodies from the sisters.
In spite of having their debut album, 'Winner', out in 2007 the group still remains unknown on the Ghanaian market to a large extent; however that is guaranteed to change. Without leaving anything to chance this time around, they put their entire album in the capable hands of the gospel hit producing genius, Nacy who puts his signature all 10 tracks on the album.
Among the 10 tracks is a remix of the title track from the previous album. “Winner Remix” is an upbeat praise song which appropriately declares Satan a loser and highlights the power of God and the victory He guarantees to those who believe in Him. “Onyame Nsa Wo Mu” from their previous album also spots a remake as “ Ebe Ye Yie”. The track is a mid-tempo expression of the awesome power of God, with simple but yet assuring lyrics that God will improve your situation, no matter how difficult it may be. The cut which also features vocals from Nacy would certainly lift you up when you are down.
The lead singles 'Me Kwan Da Nyinaa' and 'Me Yi N'ay' are currently being enjoyed by Ghanaians and understandably so. The pulsating instrumentals behind these praise songs are at best described as danceable - as you can't help but snap your fingers; nod your head, stump your feet; and finally get up to dance. 'Me Kwan Da Nyinaa' is a testament of the goodness of God and an encouragement to worship and praise the Lord at all times. While 'Me Yi N'aye' gives life to the popular Ghanaian worship song in a contemporary beat with a special touch from the two sisters.
The high-to-mid tempo swing continues through out the album on tracks like 'Mesom Nyame', 'Hwan Mpo Na', 'Agya Nyame' and the title track, 'Who Go Fit Challenge God?' Keeping to the pidgin theme of the song, the title track spots a Nigerian modulation with a well infused instrumentation of strings and drums. Its strength lies in the beats and easy-to-sing-along lyrics in English, Twi and Ewe.
The album isn't all about high and mid tempos; you can also have a sober reflection with two slow worship songs. “Bediako Mu Osahene" continues to explore the awesomeness of God's power and gives praise and thanks for his abundance. In a similar fashion, 'Wo Fata' is a deserving thanksgiving song to God.
All is all; B&D have put up a remarkable comeback on their second album which would be loved by Christians and non-Christians who listen to it. Whether you are a fan of praise or worship, there is something for you on 'Who go Fit Challenge God' that would inspire, encourage and excite your life as a Christian.
