Ghana/Brazil renew relationship at musical concert

Ghanaian music lovers and their Brazilian counterparts at the weekend went into a frenzy of excitement as Thais Morell, a renowned Brazilian female musician performed at a musical concert at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi.

The show was put together by the Kumasi Centre of Alliance Francaise in collaboration with the French Embassy in Ghana.

Morell played a rendition of some of her renowned Samba songs including “Berimbau”, “Agua de Berber”, “So Nice” and interspersed with some Ghanaian highlife music.

She was backed by Eugene Ampadu, a talented guitarist and C.C. Frank and his bandsmen.

It was a scene to behold as the audience trooped to the stage and danced to the Samba songs and the Ghanaian highlife music in a friendly manner to further strengthen the Ghana/Brazil relationship.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after the event, Mr Roger Kalaun, Chairman of the Ghana/Brazil Commercial and Cultural Association, stated that it was important that the two countries collaborated effectively in the areas of trade, commerce, education and culture for their mutual benefit. Mr Julien Dal Bosco, Kumasi Centre Manager of Alliance Francaise, announced that his outfit had lined up series of cultural activities next year to foster good relationship between Ghanaians and other foreign nationals.
