OHEMAA THREATENED BY POLITICAL FANS?

Young but talented and versatile female presenter, Harey Adwoa Yeboah Asuamah popularly known as “Ohemaa Wo Ye Gye” of Top radio in Accra, has been threatened by political serial callers. These callers, she mentioned, asked her in command to favor a particular party to suite their interests during her political talk show.

Close to two months now, Ohemaa has been the host of a political talk show from 5pm to 7 30pm every Sunday on Top Radio. The show has won lots of listeners in the few weeks of airing and getting hotter and controversial with each edition. Last two weeks edition of the program saw two strange calls from unknown numbers with male voices after signing off the main show, urging her to shun professionalism and take sides on air.

They warn her to keep it a secret whether she oblige to do so or not. The program which has been one of the hottest political shows recently in the city on weekends is dubbed "Editorial Review". In an interview, she declared to remain neutral on the program, despite the strange calls!

Known officially as Harey Adwoa Yeboah Asuamah (Umu) and in her early twenties, she has proved beyond all reasonable doubt that she is a gifted presenter. Her unique style of presentation over other Ghanaian presenters is her frequent delivery of different languages on her musical show, "Adwumamere".

She has a five-year experience in broadcast journalism, and has worked with different radio stations in Accra, Kumasi and Sunyani. That not withstanding, she also worked with some print media houses and reports for this very paper.

Currently, she is the presenter of one of Accra's hottest mid-morning show, 'ADWUMA -MMRE' on Top Radio 103.1FM. She presents both English and Akan news which earned her the political talk show. As the host she discusses various pressing issues with controversial resource persons from the political arena which is now turning to be her bane.

Incase you haven’t, then do find time to listen to her one of these days and you will always do. Ohemaa is on Top Radio 103.1FM from Monday to Friday at exactly 10am to 12pm. She moves from an entertaining presenter to the hot seat as political talk show host on Sundays from 5pm to 7:30pm. "Ohemaa Wo Ye Gye" is a student of the University of Ghana Legon.
