Ghana's favourite crooner, Kwabena Kwabena dazzles audience at a University of Ghana beauty pageant.

Smooth highlife crooner, Kwabena Kwabena joined a list of young and talented musicians at the Miss Legon 2008 beauty pageant. His little “unplugged” session with his guitar was simply a breath of fresh air and a marvellous sight to behold. His romantic lyrics sipped down into the souls of his audience, seducing the female members of the crowd to go over the moon. It became clear that the pageant was going to be one to relish. The pageant also included pulsating performances by some young and energetic Ghanaian musicians like Praye, Kwabena Kwabena, 4×4, and Tinny.

11 young, beautiful, and intelligent ladies from the University of Ghana, Legon competed in the 2008 edition of the Miss Legon beauty pageant. The girls dazzled the audience and judges with intelligent answers and breathtaking talents such as poetry, disc jockeying, dancing, singing, dramatic sketches among others. The nerves of some of the ladies gave up at certain stages of the competition when they forgot their lines of thought and froze on stage. This triggered loud cheers from the audience which either calmed their nerves or further tensed them up.

When the judges made their final 5 selection, it didn't go too well with majority of the crowd because some favourites were dropped out. The final 5 were subjected to a round of questions that included topics like female reproductive health, poverty and prostitution among a few others. Miss Jennifer Appiah, a first year student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Social Work, Religion and Theatre Arts topped the lot to wear the Miss Legon Crown. She will be an Ambassador for dental health during her reign.

Jennifer was followed by Marian Abbey and Susie Quagraine as 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively. Miss Legon 2008 won a one-week all expenses paid trip to South Africa, a brand new laptop computer and other prizes from sponsors.
