Joy Prime Picks 6 Awards At 2016 Kids Choice Awards

Joy Prime, an entertainment channel on Multi TV last Friday, August 19 won six awards at the Ghana Kids Choice Awards held at the National Theatre in Accra.

The channel, well known for its quality children’s content, received awards for Favourite TV Station with most Kids Content, Best Kids' TV Series – Carrousel, Special Award, Kids News – News Generation, Child Star – Yaa Biamah and Best Dressed Celebrity – Selly Galley, host of Premieres on Joy Prime.

The awards ceremony which is the second edition saw several celebrities and role models of kids in Ghana receiving various honours on the night.

Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, Channel Manager of Joy Prime, was also honoured for her outstanding contribution to kids' television and entertainment.

Ms Sarpong's long and distinguished career in television as well as kids' television and entertainment started back in 1999 with Fontonfrom TV when she had just entered Yaa Asantewaa Girls' Secondary School, Kumasi.

She was the host of the youth talk show, Conscious Vibes, which filmed from one school to the other discussing social issues and personal challenges impacting the lives of children.

Ms Sarpong was instrumental in the set up of all three channels of Crystal TV in 2009 and also pioneered the establishment of Junior World TV.

In 2011, Ms Sarpong joined Multimedia Group Limited as Channel Manager for Cine Afrik, The Jesus Channel and 4kids Channel.

In March 2015, to consolidate its gains, 4Kids Channel transitioned as a block on Joy Prime. The 4Kids Channel brand remains on Joy Prime with an ever evolving and revitalised edge.

Ms Sarpong also introduced new and exciting TV shows like Indomie Rep My School which is in partnership with Indomie to reward most outstanding talents amongst kids.

Other winning brands on her channel include Carrossel, Grachi, Hutos and many more.
