Welcome to the month of August! DStv has an amazing content line up for you and your family to enjoy this month. From movies to series to cartoons, there is something for everyone.

A brand new family sitcom, Crowded, premieres on M-Net. In the series premiere, Mike and Martina are caught off guard when their two grown daughters decide to move back home. Premieres on Saturday, 6 August at 7:30pm.

Selfie, the brand new romantic comedy on Comedy Central follows social media obsessed salesgirl Eliza Dooley, who thrives on internet fame. She gleans happiness from likes and follower numbers, until an embarrassing video goes viral and she realises being “friended” doesn’t mean you have actual friends. A modern day My Fair Lady, the story follows narcissistic Eliza’s journey to redemption with the help of Henry Higgs. Henry starts to fall for his new, more real “creation”. Will they or won’t they hook up? Airs from Tuesday, 2 August at 7:35pm.

Meanwhile, on Studio Universal tune in for Action Saturdays with the ‘S’ men – Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham and Steven Seagal and catch Matt Damon in the Bourne trilogy.

Silver Lining: This month on Silver Lining, Isha and Ira try to escape but are caught and have to face the consequences. Shyam feels guilty for leaving his children at the orphanage and goes in search of them. Devki tries to cause a rift between the two sisters by turning Ira against Isha. The children at the orphanage turn against Bhola and Isha has to choose whether to stand with them or against them. Tune in every Monday to Friday at 5 pm.

King of Hearts: This month on King of Hearts, Roshini receives a notice to relocate the orphanage and goes to the Kuraka Company to confront them. Durga finds herself undermined in the business world and is determined to leave her mark. DD is out to play matchmaker between Roshni and Krish but it seems that her plans are not working out as Roshni realizes her feelings for Siddarth. Catch it every Monday to Friday at 8 pm

Kiddies Treat: Kiddies Treats is a show designed for young mothers who are faced with the challenge with feeding their children interesting food that is both healthy and interesting. Chef and mother, Gurdeep Punj will lead you through simple recipes that are wholesome and easy to make at home. Besides everyday snacks and lunch-box meals. Tune in every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4:30pm

The Great Indian Kitchen: Join chef Ranveer Braar in The Great Indian Kitchen as he takes is an epic culinary journey across the seven Indian states. On his journey we will meet a variety of traditional chefs and enjoy recipes that have been carried across generations. The show highlights many hidden facets of Indian cuisine we are yet to discover. It's time to hit the road and unravel the secrets hidden in traditional Indian kitchens. Tune in every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 pm

All Roads Lead To Eva: The strikingly beautiful Eva Soler has attained great success in life. Her outstanding resolve and values have led her to proposer in business, designing strategies and routes, something she began to do at a very young age when she accompanied her father, a truck driver, on the open road. Together with her husband she has managed to build the Mon-sol trucking empire, as well as a beautiful family. All was well until an unforgivable betrayal landed Eva behind bars. If Only I Were You: Ines talks to Pedro about giving Elmer an opportunity. Ivonne tells Ignacio that she will tell the truth to Leonardo about him and Fernanda. Basilio tries to convince Pedro to conceal the truth for now. Meanwhile, Humberto gets upset with Nora because she questions his trust for Ignacio. Renata looks for Paloma to talk about Pedro, asking her to postpone the wedding. Fabiola refuses to be with Humberto, and Sara apologises to Ines. Tune in weekdays at 3:20pm.

A passion for revenge: Isadora continues her investigation into Julia Ortiz. Meanwhile, Samuel and Andrea share a passionate moment, but someone sees them. Isadora swears to her cousin that she will stop Arturo’s wedding. Miranda asks Veronica for forgiveness. Then, Arturo and Sofia come under fire. Leonardo tells Isadora that he will kill Arturo. Isadora’s men apprehend Arturo and tie him up. Meanwhile, Samuel and Andrea become intimate. Tune in weekdays at 5 pm

Wabbit: Bugs keeps hop, hop, HOPPING! Bugs hops back on screen, and is terribly busy! With a carrot in hand, as always, this bunny is on a mission, from mastering the art of yoga, to attempting to teach Bigfoot the difference between imagination and reality, whilst desperately avoiding Yosemite (of course) at all costs. For more hilarious bunny trouble and struggles, tune into Wabbit every Monday to Friday at 5:15pm

Mr Bean: The misadventures of Mr Bean continue and man, are they hilarious Tune-in and watch as Mr Bean’s attempt to find treasure slowly turns disastrous, as the hole he begins to dig becomes too great! If nature wasn’t mean enough, the Brit finds himself fighting great battles against a winged beast (a fly)! Perhaps Mr Bean should just stay indoors to avoid all mishaps, and when he grows bored, should he smuggle a parrot past Mrs Wicket. Catch him every weekday at 3:40pm

Jim Jam
Discover the Olympics: Learn the rules of the different Olympic sports through this great new show. Helped by our 2 animated friends, Cecile and Pepo, kids from 3 to 10 will watch the most popular Olympic sports and learn a little about the basic rules. Tune in every weekday this month at 12:50 pm or 4 pm.

Playdate: Every kid believes their toys come to life when they’re not around and on Playdate they really do! Mac, Sammy, Priscilla and Buckie are the beloved stuffed animals of Jacob and his friends Enzo, Molly and Quinn. Each day, these seemingly normal toys sit on the side-lines watching the kids enjoy their playtime adventures. But when the kids are away, Mac, Sammy, Priscilla and Buckie get to play! They do their best to continue the kids’ fantastical adventures but usually end up causing some kind of mess or chaos. Tune in every weekday this month at 9:15 am or 4:45 pm.

Harvey Beaks: Harvey is a sweet bird and a good son. He lives in a treehouse with his mom and dad, and loves his best friends, the rambunctious twins, Fee and Foo. In these brand new episodes of the show, which LA times describes as “sunny with a chance of bad behaviour”, these three musketeers get up to all sorts of mischief and adventure in the forest. Little Charmers: The oh-so-sweet Little Charmers, Hazel, Posie and Lavender, may still have a lot to learn when it comes to using magic to solve the problems they encounter, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try at every opportunity they get! Tune in to new episodes to see the bravest of the lot, Hazel, lead her “charmazing” friends on magical adventures around Charmville. But they better watch out: Hazel’s parents are always warning the trio about the dangers of abusing their powers. Tune on every weekday from Monday 1 August at 2:30 pm

My Little Pony: Twilight Sparkle may be a very smart unicorn, but Princess Celestia wants her to learn that there is more to life in Equestria than magic, so she sends her to Ponyville to be sociable. Here she has many adventures with Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie as they learn valuable lessons about friendship. Laughs are never far away as the magical ponies reunite with old friends and meet some new ones. Tune in every weekday from Monday 1 August at 12:30 pm

National Geographic
Banged up Abroad ( new series Premiere): The most tense and dramatic series on television is back, with six true stories of drug smugglers, kidnap victims and prisoners of war, as told in their own words. The new season includes the extraordinary highs and lows of how a 19 year old American, straight out of college, attempts to smuggle a ton of grass out of Mexico; how an avaricious car salesman is caught packing nearly five kilos of heroin at Bangkok Airport and becomes the longest serving Australian to be banged up abroad. MTV Suspect: If there’s anything that Nev Schulman (you know him from Catfish) has learned, it’s that the truth is hardly ever what we suspect. He and his co-host, gender activist iO Tillett Wright, cross America, helping people who suspect that their loved ones are hiding something from them. The truth may hurt, but it’s a lot less damaging than deception. Tune in Wednesdays from 3 August at 8:15 pm

MTV Base
Love and Hip Hop Hollywood (season 2): Ride along with Nikki, Nia, Princess and the rest of their immaculately groomed frenemies as they strut, squabble and flaunt their way around Los Angeles. Relationships take centre stage this season as Nikki continues to date Lil Fizz, Nia deals with a cheating Soulja and Princess feeds her ongoing feud with Teairra, her beau’s former flame. Catch them every Wednesday from 10 August at 4 pm.

M-Net
The Martian: Oscar winner Matt Damon and a stellar cast star in this Golden Globe winning sci-fi drama. An astronaut is left behind on Mars and must find a way to survive until help arrives. Airs on Sunday 02 August at 7:05 pm.

The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber: The baby-faced pop star requested his own roast – you better Beliebe it! The stellar line-up of roasters includes Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neal, Will Ferrell, Ludacris and prison princess Martha Stewart. He may regret his decision to volunteer for a good old roasting once he sees what the roasters are about to throw in his face! From his ex, Selena, to his absent father and his bubblegum pop music, no topic is sacred. The hilarious Kevin Hart steers the ship as the Roast Master. Tune in on Monday 1 August at 8 pm.

The mysteries can any subject that a kid has puzzled over or been spooked by, from lake monsters and mummies to aliens. Combining on-site reporting and crazy adventures, they get to the centre of the action. Adventures include dousing for gold in Alaska, stringing apples from trees to ferret out Florida's "skunk ape," climbing into a decades-old Bigfoot trap, riding in a submarine to a lake monster's lair and unravelling a real, ancient, smelly mummy. Life’s a Beach: Have you ever wanted to leave the daily grind behind and retire to a beach somewhere? Life’s a Beach meets the people who have done exactly that! Celebrate the stories of ex-pats and beach dwellers who are living the dream, including an architect who’s building a six-storey villa in the shape of a yacht in Costa Rica, two friends in Nicaragua with an ocean-side recording studio, and a surfer coasting down to Nicaragua to open a surf school. Tune in for a slice of paradise! Double-bills on Saturdays from 6 August at 5 pm.

Xtreme Waterparks: Xtreme Waterparks returns for a fifth fun-filled season of epic waterparks and splashtastic slides! This time, ride the world’s fastest waterslide in Tenerife, brave the only triple trap door slide in America and confront The Beast in Majorca. Plus, slither down Las Vegas’ serpentine slide The Rattler, face a shark infested ride in the Canary Islands, and head to Rio de Janeiro for the tallest body slide in the world, named... Kilimanjaro. Kirby Buckets: Kirby is back! Kirby Buckets is a 13 year old animator who dreams of becoming famous. He sees his drawings take shape as he and his best friends, Fish and Eli, go on outrageous and unpredictable adventures. In the episode entitled I, Gregory (1st August at 2:55) everyone blames Kirby when Principal Mitchell introduces a strict robot named Gregory to be the new hall monitor. Lots of fun with Kirby Buckets on weekdays from Monday 1 August at 2:55 pm.

Guardians of The Galaxy: The Guardians of the Galaxy are back this month with more of their animated adventures, saving the universe. In the episode entitled Don’t Stop Believin’ (Saturday 6 August at 5:50 am) when Quill goes missing while following the CryptoCube’s readings on Spartax, the Guardians follow a train of clues to rescue him. Tune in on weekends during August at 5:50 am for more adventures of Guardians of the Galaxy on Disney XD!

Action Saturdays: “The ‘S’ Men”

WESLEY SNIPES - 13 August from 5 pm
Back-to-back Wesley Snipes movies get underway with boxing drama Undisputed at 5 pm. Snipes plays a top prize fighter who lands behind bars, where a vicious gangster makes plans to pit him against the reigning prison champ. Ving Rhames also stars. In The Art of War II: Betrayal (6:35 pm), Agent Shaw (Snipes) is persuaded to come out of hiding only to discover that he's being set up to take the rap for a series of killings. Lochlyn Munro and Athena Karkanis also star.

JASON STATHAM - 20 August from 5 pm
A high-octane pair of Jason Statham films, beginning with at 5 pm. When a mysterious assassin murders his partner, an FBI agent sets out to get revenge. Statham, Jet Li and Nadine Velazquez star. In Safe at 6:50 pm, Statham stars as a former cage fighter who comes to the aid of a young girl whose remarkable memory has made her a target for the Triads and the Russian mafia. Catherine Chan and Chris Sarandon co-star.

STEVEN SEAGAL - 27 August from 5 pm
A Steven Seagal double-bill kicks off with Submerged at 5 pm, with Seagal starring as a famed mercenary who is freed from prison but quickly finds himself taking on a dangerous assignment battling terrorists on a submarine. Christine Adams and William Hope also feature. Mercenary for Justice at 6:45 pm sees a mercenary's wife and child learn of his death from a comrade - then get kidnapped by a rogue CIA faction. Seagal returns, while Jacqueline Lord also stars.

Hollywood Hits: “Bourne to Run”
The Bourne Identity: Matt Damon stars in the first instalment in the seminal action trilogy based on Robert Ludlum’s novels. Damon is found floating in the Mediterranean Sea with no memory of who he is or how he sustained a pair of bullet wounds in his back. With nothing to go on but the number of a Swiss safe deposit box, he must look for answers, evade assassins and regain his memory. Tense, smart and visceral, this is definitely one to remember. Airs on 3 August at 7 pm.

The Bourne Supremacy: Matt Damon is Bourne again in this gripping and action packed sequel. Some two years after learning that he’s a CIA assassin, Jason Bourne is framed and forced to go on the run, with no choice but to return to his former life as a trained killer. Franka Potente, Brian Cox, Julia Stiles, Karl Urban and Michelle Monaghan round out the talented cast, while director Paul Greengrass’ frenetic hand-held camerawork delivers more thrills than you can shake a camera at. Airs on 10 August at 7 pm.

The Bourne Ultimatum: In the closing chapter of the original Bourne trilogy, Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is brought out of hiding once again, this time targeted by the very organisation he once served. Desperate to solve the mystery of his past, our amnesiac hero races through Moscow, Paris, London, Madrid and New York – lucky he remembered his passport. Also featuring David Strathairn, Daniel Brühl and Paddy Considine, this concludes the trilogy in unforgettable style. Airs on 17 August at 7 pm.

Family Night: “Dance Off”
Stomp the Yard: Homecoming: With an important, nationally televised step competition that’s due to take place on homecoming weekend quickly approaching, dancer Chance Harris (Collins Pennie) must try to balance school, work and relationships with his desire to perform. Drama sequel, also starring Tika Sumpter, Jasmine Guy, Stephen Boss, Kiely Williams and Keith David, with a cameo appearance from Columbus Short as DJ Williams. Airs on 11 August at 7 pm.

Battlefield America: A Californian businessman finds himself tasked with coaching a group of kids for an upcoming hip-hop dance competition. The kids are fiercely competitive and eager to gain the upper hand after a rival crew out-performs them. With tension high and the final showdown approaching, does Sean have what it takes to get the kids and their dance skills up to scratch and claim victory once and for all? Drama, starring Marques Houston, Mekia Cox and Christopher Jones. Airs on 18 August at 7 pm.

Take the Lead: Antonio Banderas stars in this true story of Pierre Dulane, a former professional dancer who volunteers to teach a group of misfit New York kids how to dance. But Pierre’s traditional training doesn’t go down well with the hip-hop loving kids and so he teams up with the kids to create a brand new style of dance, becoming their mentor in the process. The cast also includes Jenna Dewan Tatum and Alfre Woodard. Airs on 25 August at 7 pm.

Comedy Night: “Jim-nastics”
The Cable Guy: Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick star in this dark comedy directed by Ben Stiller. After splitting up with his girlfriend, Steven (Broderick) moves into a new apartment and arranges to have cable TV installed. What he gets is a new best friend in the shape of Chip, his obnoxious and somewhat stalker-ish cable guy. When Steven tries to distance himself from hip things take a turn for the worse. Owen Wilson also stars. Airs on 12 August at 7 pm.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective: In the film that made him a star, Jim Carrey plays a private investigator who specialises in finding missing animals. Ace is called in when Snowflake, the Miami Dolphins’ aquatic mascot, goes missing two weeks before the Super Bowl. But it’s not just Snowflake who’s disappeared – members of the team are being kidnapped too! With time running out, can Ace track down the missing team members and save the day? Airs on 19 August at 7 pm.

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls: Super sleuth Ace Ventura returns in this smash-hit sequel once again starring Jim Carrey. After his attempt to rescue a stranded racoon goes horribly wrong, Ace stops detecting and enters a monastery. But his attempt at some inner peace doesn’t last long when he’s called on to search for a stolen sacred white bat – the one creature he’s terrified of! Can Ace put his fear aside and once again answer nature’s call? Airs on 26 August at 7 pm.
