JUL 28, 2016 LISTEN

Beyoncé set a new personal best this year with 11 nominations for the 2016 MTV Video Awards. Her visual album LEMONADE and video for “ Formation ” led the pack of nominations announced Tuesday (July 26), seemingly getting the nod in every category where she'd be eligible with the exception of Best Visual Effects.

Hip Hop and R&B artists had a big year across the board.

Drake got a combined six nominations for his meme-baiting “ Hotline Bling ” video and his collaboration with Rihanna for “ Work .” Kanye West's controversial “Famous” visuals scored two nominations, including for Video Of The Year.

Nominated for Best Hip Hop Video: Drake for “Hotline Bling,” Desiigner for “Panda,” Bryson Tiller for “Don't,” Chance The Rapper for “Angels,” and 2 Chainz for “Watch Out.”

Desiigner and Bryson Tiller were also nominated in the Best New Artist category.

Other musical genres didn't fare so well. The artists nominated in the Rock and Electronic categories weren't nominated anywhere else, aside from Coldplay, who earned three nominations total. Adele received eight nominations, seven of them for the video of her mega-hit “Hello.”

The awards go down live at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Fans can vote for some categories here .
