JUL 26, 2016 LISTEN

Ghanaian international gospel act, Minister Sonnie Badu is set to release his fifth album on August 23.

The album dubbed “Soundz of Africa” was recorded live in Maryland, USA on November 1, 2014, at the New Psalmist Baptist Church.

The album was recorded as classical hymns under the theme “African Gospel in Classical Hymns and Songs”.

“Soundz of Africa” features American stars Jonathan Nelson and Darwin Hobbs and wife of Minister Sonnie Badu, Annie Badu.

The album was recorded by award-winning recording engineer Danny Duncan, who is behind Israel Houghton, Cece Winans and Marvin Sapp’s works. Armando is the sound engineer behind the album.

“Soundz of Africa” has songs like ‘Still You Reign, Free’, ‘Amazing God’, ‘Wone Alpha ni Omega’, ‘Angels Cry’ (Sonnie’s gift of worship to Jesus) and a French rendition of his famous “Baba” song.

Sonnie Badu, in a press statement, explained that the release of the album has delayed because there were some inputs he wanted to make it on the album.

“It has been an awesome journey. The album has to do with my experience and everything I have learnt. I am very proud of myself and I am happy that we have been able to achieve this,” he added.

Ahead of the release of “Soundz of Africa”, Minister Sonnie Badu released ‘Imani’ and ‘Amazing God’ earlier this year.

The album will be sold on platforms like iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and Google Play.
