London- Fashion Undressed by MasterCard at the Southbank Centre from Saturday 23 to Sunday 24 July 2016 was such a spectacle to behold, as a weekend of real fashion for real people.

The Southbank Centre brought in its wake custom, tradition, culture and of course the diplomatic art of self-indulgence that befits the multicultural society it is serving.

The festival was divided into two spectrums: Indoor and Outdoor. On Saturday alone, there were about 27 different activities lined across the Festival Terrace right into the various function halls.

Indoor
On the level 2 Foyer was the Beauty Zone housing The IVER MAKE-UP ACADEMY. They were on hand to spare people their money by making them extra posh and beautiful in the name of free.

At the Clore Ballroom was ‘Fake it Till You Make it’ which was a morning waacking and body confidence dance workshop hosted by choreographer Mademoiselle Ginger.

.Mademoiselle Ginger the dancer, kick started her Whacking Dancing Show in time to let her teeming fans in on the knowledge and art of Waacking.

She did it so well, so much so that the young ones took to it in less than no time, before their parents realised, they were already in the Waacking loop.

Asked if she is bringing back the 70’s dance back into action, Mademoiselle said: “ Yes it was born in the 70s and I think it’s back and I am just here to help it grow and I just want everyone to know how amazing it is, and how empowering it is and how much fun the dance is.”

In her assertion, Waacking is not difficult because “The music drives the energy, and you know you just have to work with people and make them have fun, and when you have fun everything is easier to learn.”

She has been Waack- dancing for seven years and as to what the future holds for Waack-dancing she said: “I don’t know, we will see what happens, I am a very day to day person, and I like to see what happens when it happens next. So we will see. It will be exciting to see what happens with it.”

While she was bringing her Waacking to a close, the Festival Terrace was about to buzz, snap and cruise lively with art and craft.

Outdoor
In jumps the Festival Terrace with its nice and decent people, vantage landscapes that overlook the River Thames and her beautiful piers from any given angle.

Catching any activity within the festivity was just a stone’s throw away from one another. So seeing fashion blogger, radio and TV presenter Yinka Bokinni hosting the main show alongside DJ ‘The Last Skeptic was handy.

The main attraction and highlight was the crowd joining the ever flexible Benjamin Milan on a ‘vogueing’ dance workshop that sees his body movement, flexibility and contour as second to none.

The vogue class is aimed to share the culture of New York City ballroom by gaining confidence and strength through posing on runway floors and hand performances.

From an artistic point of view, Fashion Undressed is arguably the only fashion festival that breaks all the traditional fashion rules, by giving the ultimate emotional power of confidence in dressing, to its patrons.

Fashion Undressed is the event that actually depicts the passion and beauty of expression through myriads of fashions, crossing over most continents of the world.

Therefore Fashion Undressed is fashion as dressed by one and all.
