Top Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel, arguably one of the most talented actors in Africa, has bemoaned the dearth of the good old days of acting in Nollywood.

He attributed the ugly trend to the current focus of filmmakers on equipment than talent. The actor revealed this at a movie release party held last week in Lagos.

From his good boy roles to his bad boy roles in movies, Michel is always an entertaining character to watch on screen across Africa.

While speaking about his experience featuring in Nollywood movies, the movie star lamented the fact that the Nigerian movie industry is fast losing its art due to its focus on equipment.

“What I really don’t like that’s happening in the industry is that they are putting more focus on equipment, lighting and cameras than the art of acting itself."

"So, they are losing their art and focusing on putting more passion on the technical part. Therefore, true acting is fading away in Nollywood,” he lamented.

The award-winning actor has starred in a lot of movies both in Ghana and Nigeria including Being Mrs Elliot, Knocking on Heaven’s Door, Bursting Out, Forgetting June, 30 Days in Atlanta, The Department, among others.
