It’s evidently clear that reggae/dancehall has taken a predominately big space in Ghana music in recent years with the rise of lots of dancehall acts in Ghana. Undeniably, one could say it’s the biggest genre in Ghana at the moment seeing its influence and how non “dancehallers” have even gotten the vibe to get “ina di dance”.

Last night ETV’s “Late Night Celebrity Show” hosted by veteran rapper Eddie Blay and TV Host , brought up some interesting revelations when two names that cannot be ruled out of this fraternity, Shatta Rako and BET 2016 nominee for Best International Act: Africa, MzVee “clashed” on the show.

In a little “argument” with Shatta Rako, who thinks dancehall must be kept clean in order to be able to sustain its longevity in the system and also appeal to the corporate community, the “Natural Girl” hit maker who disclosed she could not speak the Jamaican patois contrary to what her fans think, was of the view that dancehall is a “dirty” genre and should be noted as such. “It’s a dirty genre, please don’t make it pretty” MzVee told Shatta Rako.

In reply Shatta Rako stood his grounds to defend the genre and said dancehall is not dirty but only been tagged like that because a few of them make it look like that. He however would not mention anyone.

“At the end of the day” they both announced their future plans and assured their fans to keep praying and supporting them to bring out the best in them.

The two, according to information we gather could be hitting the studio soon for a collaboration.
