Tamale Chief Bans Entertainment Shows

The Chief of Tamale Dakpema, Naa Dawuni Alhassan, has suspended all entertainment shows within the city following several bloody clashes between supporters of two local artistes – Fancy Gadam and Macassion.

The latest clash between fans of the two singers has left four persons seriously injured and several items damaged. According to the Chief, the decision was informed by the growing culture of indiscipline among musicians in the area. Naa Dawuni in a statement said “in consultation with the police and military, the palace has suspended all concerts, videos and musical shows”.

The two feuding artistes have been battling each other over supremacy and who have enough fan base within the entertainment industry in the region. Starr News’ understands the rift between them has long been a point of division and tension for music lovers in the area.

A sub-chief in-charge of entertainment in the community Mohammed Hafiz Abdulai Demanaa told Starr News the decision is to prevent loss of lives and further damage to properties. He said the directive has also been sent to event organizers and managers of venues where the shows are normally organized, and therefore shall deal with anyone found flouting the fiat.
