Popular radio presenter Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, aka 'Afia Schwarzenegger', hostess of Okay Fm's mid-morning show, 'Ye Wo Krom' has taken to her social media pages to write a rather touching letter to the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur.

Schwarzenegger's letter comes at a time Nana Oye Lithur is in the news over a 'talk-of-town' birthday cake she displayed on her 50^th birthday recently.

It is not clear whether Nana Oye bought the 'hanging' cake or  received it as a gift; but whatever it is, she is certainly trending in the news over the sheer size of the 'hanging' cake which obviously would have cost an arm and a leg.

Afia Schwarznegger, in her letter, questioned the Minister on her exact role in providing succour for the rising number of street children all over.

Below is an edited version of what the popular mid-morning show hostess wrote to Nana Oye:

“Dear Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection,

Last night around 9:40pm-10:25pm, I counted up to 43 children only at 37 traffic lights, Opeibea house via Alliance Francaise to Kawokodi (all in Accra)…and I wonder what you are doing as a Minister.

These are children living on the streets with no guardians or support….These are children depending on strangers…Do we wait for them to be criminals before building them a prison? Some of these children are used on daily basis to traffic drugs or commit robbery.

Dear Minister, why do we focus on old people when we live in a society that helps the aged but ignores children that are so helpless?…Do you know these kids came on the streets during your term as a Minister and nothing has been done till now?….Have you ever wondered what they do when they are sick, Madam?

Have you ever thought of them as you think of your children? Or they are too dirty to fit in the shoes of your children? Have you ever wondered how many of them are killed on a daily basis by drunk drivers or for ritual purposes?

Nigeria didn't get to where they are by accident in terms of terrorism. ..We can't be thinking 'Peace' when these children are left to think the society hates them!!! (They will come after us someday if nothing is done.)

Madam, when will my appointment with your office be approved since I have been waiting already for 12 months just to discuss the welfare of these children; or you are busy taking pictures at UN?…hmmm!

I will end here and ask President Mahama to come to the rescue of these children since we Ghanaians didn't employ you….I will also ask you to ponder on Mathew 7:21 and remind you that so long as you are not caring for other people kids, God is not interested in yours. Also remember that Galatians 6:7 is assuring everyone that is helping you to ignore these kids that it's a seed we are sowing so they shouldn't be amazed when it is ripe!!!

Valentina, since taking up the job as hostess of the 'Ye Wo Krom' mid-morning show, has stepped up her level of professionalism that has suddenly made her the envy of many.

She starts at 10 am each weekday and stays on air for two hours on the interactive live show which sees her treating her audience to a mix of information, entertainment and education.

Meanwhile, she still remains the hostess of the 'Kokooko' show on UTV.
