Ghanaian owned TYM103.3FM based in Ohio, Columbus is steadily promoting indigenous African music through its segment.

The mother company TYM Entertainment Networks was founded by Daniel Ashanti, a business mogul from the Ashanti region.

Created with the sole aim of propagating African music in the states, TYM radio solely plays music from Africa thus their slogan "The Finest African Station".

Although there are countless radio stations in the states, only few can boast of blasting music from the motherland as their playlist is evidently dominated by American music.

This is a huge boost avenue for African music to find its way directly onto mainstream US airwaves.

One of the radio presenters for TYM radio propelling this campaign is Papa Sly, who hosts segments on Friday and Saturday dubbed "Afrobeat" and "African Showbiz Reviews" respectively.

The talented presenter is excited about the whole program as he sees it as a means of giving back to Africa.

Before moving to the states, David Quansah known behind the console as Papa Sly worked as a radio presenter for almost 15 years in Ghana and has played for Vibe fm, Adom 'drive time', Choice, Happy and YFM.

Do make it a point to tune in to one of his shows on TYM 103.3FM, if you find your way to the states.
