The International School of Aviation last Saturday honoured the former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Alhaji Sidiku Buari, with lifetime achievements award for his meritorious contribution to the development of Ghanaian music and remarkable achievement in private business.

The award was presented to Alhaji Sidiku Buari by the Chief Executive Officer of the school, Dr Captain Michael O. Adesina, at the ninth graduation ceremony held last Saturday at the school's premises in Kasadjan Flat, CMB Quarter, Community 2 in Tema.

Alhaji Sidiku Buari, owner of the Sid Film Theatre and Sid Music Studios, after receiving the award, thanked the management of the school for the honour done him, saying he will never forget the occasion.

In a short speech at the colourful ceremony, the former (MUSIGA) president, who is also the former vice president of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM), advised the students to take their studies seriously and maintain discipline in everything they do, cautioning them to be of good behaviour.

In July this year, National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) honoured Alhaji Sidiku Buari for his contribution towards the Ghana film and video industry. He received a certificate of acknowledgement and appreciation at the NAFTI Film Lectures 2015 Awards ceremony in Accra.

Alhaji Sidiku Buari was the president of MUSIGA and the chairman of the Copyright Society of Ghana (COSGA) from 1999 to 2008. He was the vice president of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) from 2004 to 2008.
